TMBP Drone Guidelines

Capturing the Stoke: TMBP Drone Guidelines
At Timberland Mountain Bike Park, we love seeing the incredible footage you capture on our trails.
However, because our park is nestled within a residential estate and resort, we must balance your creativity with the privacy of residents and the safety of all riders.
To fly a drone at TMBP, you must follow our 48-Hour Pre-Registration process.
The 5-Step Approval Workflow
1. Download the Form: Download the Drone Permit Application from the TMBP website or request it from the front desk via our official messaging app.
2. Submit Early: Email or message your signed form to TMBP at least 48 hours before your planned ride. You can email it to <timberlandmountainbikepark (at) gmail (dot) com>
3. Wait for Approval: TMBP will route your request for stakeholder sign-off (Timberland Heights, Resort Security, and TMBP Management).
4. Get Your "Drone Pass": Once approved, we will send a signed digital copy of the permit back to you.
5. Check-In: On the day of your ride, show your signed digital permit at the front desk to receive your day pass. Keep this digital copy on your phone at all times while in the park.
The Rules of Flight
Strict Privacy Boundaries: Do not fly over private houses, residential lots, or the Timberland Highlands Resort guest facilities (especially the pool area). A single privacy breach will result in a permanent ban from the park.
Designated Airspace: Drones are permitted only over the TMBP trail corridors (e.g., Launch Pad, Top Gun, Skills Area).
No-Fly Trails: For safety reasons, drones are strictly prohibited in the narrow canopy sections of Matrix, Parabellum, and Point Break - unless given the on-site go-ahead of the Park Patrol Supervisor.
Yield to Riders: Riders always have the right of way. Maintain a minimum 10-meter safety buffer from all people and park infrastructure.
No Tree Rescues: If your drone goes down, TMBP staff and Park Patrol are not authorized to retrieve equipment from trees, thick canopy, or private residential property.
Digital Proof: You must be able to present your signed digital permit to Park Patrol or Estate Security upon request. No signed permit means no flight.
Why the 48-Hour Rule?
Our park is part of a larger community. The 48-hour window allows us to coordinate with Timberland Heights Estate Security so they know who is authorized to be in the air. This prevents "rogue" drones from causing security alarms for our neighbors.
Thank you for helping us keep TMBP a safe and private environment for everyone!
