Spooky Spokes Costume Guidelines
Spooky Spokes Costume Guidelines
TMBP encourages riders to embrace the festive spirit during our special costume rides. However, safety is our top priority. To ensure a fun and incident-free experience for everyone, please adhere to the following guidelines when choosing and wearing your costume:
Costume Considerations:
- Avoid loose or flowing fabrics: Loose clothing can get caught in bike chains, gears, or branches, causing accidents. Opt for form-fitting costumes or secure loose ends with safety pins or tape.
- No masks that obstruct vision: Your peripheral vision is crucial for navigating the trails safely. Choose costumes with minimal headwear or masks that don't impede your sight.
- Helmets are non-negotiable: Helmets must be worn at all times, regardless of your costume. Ensure your helmet fits properly over any headwear or accessories.
- Footwear matters: Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes suitable for mountain biking. Avoid costumes that require high heels, sandals, or other impractical footwear.
- No dangling accessories: Avoid costumes with long, dangling accessories that could get caught in your bike or pose a hazard to other riders.
Additional Safety Tips:
- Test your costume: Before heading to the trails, try out your costume on your bike to ensure it doesn't interfere with your movement or control.
- Be mindful of others: Remember that other riders may have limited visibility due to their costumes. Maintain a safe distance and be extra cautious when passing.
- Adjust your riding style: Costumes can affect your balance and agility. Ride at a comfortable pace and avoid taking unnecessary risks.
